E-commerce Website Design Yorkshire

Online shops with proper payments, built on fast modern code and priced under what agencies charge for the same work.

An online shop has one job: make it effortless to find a product, trust the site, and pay. We build shops the same way we build everything else: fast, custom code with search engines considered from the first line. Payments run through Stripe, the same platform that runs the checkout on this site. No plugin stacks that break when one updates, no platform fees that creep upward every year.

Payments done properly, through Stripe

Stripe handles cards, Apple Pay and Google Pay, sends the receipts, and holds the card details so your website never touches them. It is the same payment platform running the checkout on this very site, so we are not learning it on your project.

You get paid directly into your own Stripe account. There is no middle layer taking a cut of every sale beyond Stripe’s own standard processing fee, which you would pay on any platform.

Product pages built to rank

Most shop platforms generate product pages that all look the same to Google: thin text, duplicate descriptions, no structure. We build each product and category page with proper headings, real descriptions, and product schema markup, so your products are eligible to appear in search with prices and availability shown.

A shop that only gets found through paid ads is renting its traffic. Product pages that rank are the difference between a shop that costs money and one that makes it.

Fast enough that people actually buy

Every extra second of loading time costs sales. That is measured, not opinion. Shops carry more weight than brochure sites: product images, baskets, payment scripts. We keep ours fast with optimised images, minimal code, and nothing loading that the page does not need.

Fast also means mobile. Most shopping journeys start on a phone, so the basket and checkout get designed for thumbs first, screens second.

Orders that handle themselves

A sale should not create admin. Order confirmations go to the customer automatically, order details land in your inbox, and if you want more, like stock warnings, dispatch notifications or a daily sales summary, that is exactly the kind of thing our business automation work covers.

You handle the products and the posting. The website handles the rest.

Honest advice on platforms

Sometimes Shopify or a marketplace genuinely is the right answer: a huge catalogue with complex stock, or selling where your buyers already are. If that is your situation, we will say so before taking your money, and help you decide with clear reasons.

Where a custom build wins is control and cost over time: no monthly platform fee rising every year, no app store of paid plugins for basic features, and a site that is actually yours.

A straight answer on cost

Agencies commonly charge £3,000 to £10,000 for a small online shop. Ours typically come in between £1,000 and £2,500, quoted clearly per job before we start. The saving is real, not a corner cut: our build process makes shops genuinely quicker for us to produce, and we price them accordingly.

The quote depends on catalogue size, whether you need delivery options and discount codes, and how much content already exists. Tell us what you sell and we will give you a number.
