Nowhere to number one, without changing the domain

Force Tuning comes up first on Google for two completely different searches. Performance tuning in Leominster, and garage work in Leominster. Same website, both number one.

That took two separate pieces of work, about a year apart.

Force Tuning already had a website. It just wasn't ranking for anything, and it wasn't doing much to convince anyone either.

I didn't rebuild it. I went through what was there and fixed the foundations, the things Google actually reads and most small business sites get wrong. Not long after, they were coming up first for performance tuning in Leominster and they have held that position ever since.

Force Tuning moved away from being mainly a tuning shop. More general garage work: servicing, MOT prep, repairs, diagnostics, automatic gearbox work.

Different customers, searching for completely different things.

The problem was the website hadn't moved with them. It still read like a specialist tuning outfit, with every service crammed onto a single page. So when somebody in Leominster searched for a garage, Force Tuning didn't appear. Not page two, not page five. They weren't in the results at all.

That is more common than people think. A business changes what it sells and the website carries on advertising what it used to sell.

Every service got its own page, written around the words people actually type into Google rather than the words the trade uses internally. The structure was rebuilt around the business as it is today, and the tuning work was kept where it was rather than being thrown away.

That last part mattered. Restructuring a site is the easiest way to lose a ranking you already have. The point was to add the garage searches without giving up the tuning ones.

Under three months later, Force Tuning were number one in Leominster for garage searches. They never dropped for performance tuning.

Same domain. Same business. A website that finally says what they do.
