There are broadly two models. A monthly plan spreads the cost into a small recurring fee that usually includes hosting, maintenance, and updates. A one-off custom build is paid up front, or in stages, and you own a larger site outright.
Neither is automatically better. A monthly plan suits a business that wants to be online quickly without a big lump sum. A custom build suits a business that needs multiple pages, deeper SEO, and room to grow.
Managed one-page websites on a monthly plan typically range from around £20 to £50 a month. At the lower end you should still get proper hosting, a mobile-friendly design, and someone handling small changes for you.
Our own Starter plan is £20 a month with hosting, maintenance, and SEO foundations included. The key thing to check is what happens when you want a change. If edits cost extra every time, the low headline price is misleading.
